My Winter palette is derived from walking through a winter landscape. The distilled arrangements of cool blues and darks greens, often interspersed with orange, aim to reflect the quiet and calming nature of landscape scenes at this time of year.

The ticking stripe is originally an old French utility stripe, seen typically in bed linens, from as early as the 16th century. It became a favourite of designers in the 1930’s when American design legend, Sister Parish, used it in the design of her first home. It has been a favourite amongst designers ever since and has even been used by artist Louise Bourgeois in her sculptures and collages. Quite simply, for me, it is a stripe that I have always loved, imbuing simplicity and elegance with a nod to French rustic charm.
